چکیده

In this study, the population dynamics and bio-ecology of Diaphania indica (Saunders) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) have been investigated. The abundance D. was recorded throughout year between 2018 2019 indicating an overlapping generations. We found that abundance/incidence June - July maximum compared to early summer winter. density weather parameters i.e., relative humidity positively correlated temperature negatively with incidence indica. regression model also supported relationship pest buildup factors. addition, we Apanteles taragamae Viereck Phanerotoma sp. (both Hymenoptera: Braconidae) were key mortality factors as parasitoids. present investigation helps develop integrated management practices for

Parapoynx crisonalis (Walker, 1859) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) is a major pest of aquatic vegetables and aquatic landscape plants. It has been responsible for causing considerable economic damage to water chestnut (Trapa natans) plants. In the Changsha vicinity of China, P. crisonalis has five generations a year. Re-evaluation of sugarcane borer (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) bioeconomics in Louisiana

The sugarcane borer, Diatraea saccharalis (F.) (Lepidoptera: Crambidae), is the key insect pest of sugarcane, Saccharum spp., grown in Louisiana. For more than 40 years, Louisiana sugarcane farmers have used a value of 10% internodes bored at harvest as the economic injury level (EIL). Three plant-cane studies were conducted to re-evaluate the long-standing sugarcane borer EIL level using the m...

Thermal requirements and development of Herpetogramma phaeopteralis (Lepidoptera: Crambidae: Spilomelinae).

ABSTRACT The tropical sod webworm, Herpetogramma phaeopteralis Guenée is a major turfgrass pest in the southeastern United States. We evaluated larval development on five artificial diets and at six temperatures (15, 20, 25, 30, 32.5, 35 +/- 1 degree C) on St. Augustinegrass (Stenotaphrum secundatum (Walter) Kuntze). Only larvae fed St. Augustinegrass and soy-wheat germ diets completed their li...

Trapping Chilo Sacchariphagus (lepidoptera: Crambidae) in Sugarcane Using Synthetic Pheromones

In June 2002, pheromone-trapping techniques were used successfully to detect the presence of Chilo sacchariphagus Bojer (Lepidoptera: Crambidae) in sugarcane at Mafambisse and Marromeu sugar estates in Mozambique. Trap design, bait concentration, trap placement and moth flight activity were examined. A simple trap constructed from a 2-litre plastic bottle and baited with two commercial syntheti...
